Senior Software Contractor: Contract Role, Portland Oregon based.

Working closely with some of the industry’s most prominent customers, we deliver top-notch AI vision systems via the most sophisticated ML ops automation platform available today.  

We are seeking a Contract Senior Software Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about working with state-of-the-art vision systems for the factory floor.

Responsibilities 

Backend Development: 

  • Design, develop, and maintain reliable and scalable backend systems in C# or Python. 
  • Ensure scalability, performance, and security of backend services. 

Real Time Control Experience: 

  • Implement PLC and factory floor interfaces including Profinet, Ethernet IP, Modbus TCP and others as required. 
  • Integrate software with hardware components, with a preference for experience in C#. 

Experience with Distributed Systems: 

  • Design and implement distributed systems architectures. 
  • Ensure system reliability, scalability, and efficiency. 

Networking Experience: 

  • Knowledge of networking protocols and architecture. 
  • Experience in implementing network security measures highly desirable. 

Deployment of Embedded Hardware Systems: 

  • Experience in deploying and integrating software onto hardware in a production environment. 
  • Ability to troubleshoot and optimize hardware & software system performance. 

Independent Project Management: 

  • Manage projects from inception to completion with minimal supervision driving successful, on-time outcomes. 

Full Stack Development (Nice to have): 

  • Ability to collaborate with full stack development team. 
  • Demonstrate proficiency in both frontend and backend technologies. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on backend development, Python, and distributed systems. 
  • Experience with C# / .Net and PLC systems from Rockwell, Siemens and others.  
  • Experience in deploying scalable software on hardware in various environments. 
  • Proven track record of mentoring and leading engineering teams. 
  • Ability to manage complex projects independently.

Senior Devops Engineer. Full time, flexible hours, Local Portland Oregon (remote by exception). 

We are seeking a Development Operations (DevOps) Engineer II who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about working with state-of-the-art vision systems, especially those from NVIDIA. If you are a curious mind, a lifelong learner, and have a penchant for turning challenges into opportunities, we want you! 

Responsibilities

  1. Deploy and provision production systems: Maintain and grow our current capabilities to securely provision and deploy software to customer systems. 
  1. Deploy and maintain business infrastructure: Maintain our business infrastructure to include internal cloud services as well as virtual private network technologies. 
  1. Implement Security Standards: Using automation tools, apply and ensure Linux security best practices, aligning with standards such as ISO 27001. 
  1. Research and Implementation: Research, document and implement deployment trends to improve our system management infrastructure 
  1. Continuous Learning and Adaptation: Stay updated with the latest in DevOps trends, embedded programming, vision processing, and Linux security enhancements. 

Qualifications: 

  • Strong grasp of Linux/Ubuntu environments, familiarity with NVIDIA’s Jetpack derivative operating system is a plus 
  • Hands-on proficiency in automation software such as Ansible 
  • Proficient in Systems Security, with a particular emphasis on embedded systems and implementation best practices, such as those outlined in ISO 27001 
  • Experience with managing cloud infrastructure, experience managing and/or deploying Okta is a plus 
  • Excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills. 
  • 3+ years of experience in development operations. 
  • A curious mindset with a strong passion for problem-solving. 
  • Ability to thrive in both independent and collaborative working environments. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
