Pause Live Operation

Overview

PAUSE mode is a feature that allows operators to pause the system and temporarily suspend the step timer during live operations. This functionality ensures operators can safely manage unexpected situations or step away during live operation.

Version Support

This feature is supported from V7.7.0

Function

When activated, PAUSE mode:

  • Immediately suspends the current step timer
  • Maintains all other system monitoring
  • Preserves the current state of operations
  • Displays a visual indicator showing the system is in PAUSE state
  • Records the pause event in the system log for compliance and audit purposes

Use Cases

PAUSE mode is particularly valuable in scenarios such as:

  • Equipment anomalies requiring investigation
  • Shift handover procedures
  • Emergency response coordination
  • Training or demonstration purposes

Entering PAUSE Mode

  1. Operator selects the PAUSE function through the control interface
  2. System immediately pauses the step timer
  3. Visual confirmation appears on the operator screen
  4. System logs the timestamp and operator ID

During PAUSE Mode

  • All system monitoring remains active
  • System maintains data logging with PAUSE status indicated

Exiting PAUSE Mode

  1. Operator must verify conditions are appropriate to resume
  2. Select RESUME through the control interface
  3. System logs the resume action
  4. Step timer continues from point of pause

Best Practices

  • Use PAUSE mode judiciously to maintain process integrity
  • Conduct thorough checks before resuming
  • Review PAUSE patterns to identify potential process improvements
  • Include PAUSE scenarios in operator training
